# USE1.5.4 EasyBuild

EasyBuild is a framework for building, installing, and managing scientific software on HPC systems. It uses *easyconfig* files to describe software builds and can automatically resolve and install dependencies through predefined software toolchains.

## Learning Outcomes

* Understand the role of EasyBuild in automating software installation and software stack management on HPC systems.

* Install software from easyconfig files and use the robot dependency resolution mechanism to automatically build required dependencies.
